GIS 2: Intro to Geocoding Sets of Addresses
Geocoding is the process of transforming street addresses into latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates so that the addresses can be accurately displayed on digital mapping applications. There are several geocoding tools available and this workshop will cover these tools and will help you decide which one best meets the needs of your project.
- Geocoding addresses to exact latitudinal and longitudinal points
- Geocoding addresses to census tracts or block groups
Note: This is the second workshop in a four-part series. For the full series, register for GIS 1, GIS 3, and GIS 4.
If you don’t see a date or time that works for your schedule please check back later for new additions. In the meantime, we encourage you to check out the FREE online training available to the Georgia State community at Lynda.com.
Faculty and Staff members can also request custom technology workshops for department or student groups of 4 or more. Send your request to email@example.com or see Assign Media for web, video or image based projects.
