Esports Shoutcasting

Shoutcasters play a big role in esports. They provide the engaging and informative commentary about the action on the screen. As esports continues to grow, the need and demand for talented, hardworking shoutcasters will increase.

This workshop teaches the basics of shoutcasting from setup to the first steps into the esports industry as a shoutcaster.

Workshop Topics

  • Utilizing OBS to stream your commentary.
  • Presenting yourself online and in front of the camera.
  • Differentiating Play by Play vs Color.
  • Setting up the narrative of the game.
  • Learning the etiquette of professional vs casual casting.
Prerequisites: Willingness and confidence to speak out when put on the spot. Previous exposure and interest to esports is a plus, but not required.
