IT RESOURCES FOR FACULTY & STAFF
Are you new to Georgia State or just not sure where to find a technology resource? See below for our most commonly used resources for faculty and staff. Get started by completing the setup for the items below or find out at a glance how you can access needed resources.
Activate or Reset Your CampusID Password
Your CampusID username and password are used to log into most technology systems on campus, including the OneUSG employee information system, email and many others. You can activate your CampusID by setting your password, security questions and other settings or change your CampusID password if you need to reset it at campusid.gsu.edu.
Set Up or Manage Duo Multifactor Authentication
Duo multifactor authentication is used to verify your account login using your mobile device, a telephone or passcode. Set up or manage your Duo settings with the information at: technology.gsu.edu/duo
Check Office 365 Faculty/Staff Email
Check your Office 365 faculty/staff email account for your [email protected] employee email address for work-related information. Find out about 5 free copies of Microsoft Office for your multiple devices and more in your email account. To change how your name appears in the campus directory and Office 365, you can use Panther Profile.
Set Up GSU Wireless Access
GSU is the name of the wireless network for university faculty, staff and students while on campus. Get set up and find out about using wireless at other institutions.
Set Up Telephone & Voicemail
Make sure your phone is set up with voicemail and other settings you may need as you work from on and off-campus.
Get Antivirus
Find out about antivirus on your university-supported device or get antivirus for personally owned devices that you use for work.
Online and Hybrid Meetings
Webex is available for online meetings between staff, faculty and students as well as meetings including those outside the university. Microsoft Teams can also be used for university-internal meetings or with invited guests.
Download Productivity and Academic Software
You can download up to five copies of Microsoft Office to use on devices. Information about how to access other software needed for productivity and academic use is on the software page.
Access Cloud Storage and Work with Shared Documents
OneDrive is available for storing, sharing and collaborating on files related to an individual's work. Dropbox accounts can also be requested. Your department may also use a shared network drive or MicroSoft Teams for file storage.
Access Protected Resources with the VPN
Using the university's virtual private network (VPN) helps you connect to certain resources that are only available when you are connected to the university network. Support documentation for protected resources may direct you to use the VPN.
Cybersecurity Awareness Training
Faculty and staff are required to complete Cybersecurity training when first hired and twice annually while employed at Georgia State. You will be emailed with information about this training but to review your current status and see if items need to be completed log into the university's training system, KnowBe4.
