Avaya Voicemail Outage and Actions Required to Reset Your Avaya Campus Voicemail Access

On Saturday, July 29, an outage occurred to the Avaya campus voicemail system with the voicemail system returned to operation on Wednesday, August 2 at 7:30 a.m. As a result of this Avaya voicemail system issue, stored voice messages received to the phone system prior to August 2, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. are no longer retrievable, and all users of Avaya phones must reset their voicemail password and greeting to retrieve new voice messages and secure voicemail account access.

The Avaya phone system is used on the Atlanta, Buckhead, and Peachtree Dunwoody campuses as well as in some areas of the Alpharetta campus. The Cisco phone system, which is used in remaining areas of campus, was not affected.

Summary of Affected Voicemail Messages
Messages received and stored in the Avaya phone system prior to August 2, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. can no longer be accessed using your phone. If your voicemail was set to forward voicemail to email, voicemail attachments previously forwarded to email can still be accessed through email. Voicemail messages for users with Cisco phones were not affected by this issue.
