This document shows you the way to determine your Windows System version (32 bit or 64 bit) and Windows Edition (Eg: Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 7 Professional, or Windows 10)

Determine Your Windows System and Edition

Find Windows 10 PC’s System Type and Edition

  1. Enter System in the search bar at the bottom of the screen, and click System in the results.
  2. In the window, you can view the Windows Edition and System Type.


Find Windows 7 PC’s System Type and Edition

  1. Click the Start Button.

  2. Select Computer.

  3. Click System Properties in the submenu.

  4. On the System Properties Window:
    1. Look for Windows Edition to know your windows type.
    2. Look for System Status for Windows System (32 bit or 64 bit)

Find Windows XP PC’s System Type and Edition

  1. Click the Start button and then Click My Computer.

  2. Click View System Information on the left menu

  3. The system type (32-bit or 64-bit Operating System) will be displayed under System as:
    • For 64-bit version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version<Year>
    • For 32-bit version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version <Year>

Find Windows Vista PC’s System Type and Edition

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Type system in the Start Search box, and then click Systemin the Programs List.
