Installing McAfee Anti-virus on GSU-Owned Mac Computers

This page lists the steps to install McAfee AntiVirus on a GSU-owned Mac computer.


  • Mac computer with an Intel processor
  • 1 GB or more of RAM
  • Minimum 300 MB of free disk space (500 MB recommended)
  • Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 or higher
  • Your administrator account username and password
  • Your CampusID and password

Steps to Install McAfee Security on Mac

  1. Log in at with your CampusID and Password.
  2. NOTE: If you have forgotten your CampusID and password, please go to
  3. Click the McAfee tab.
  4. Select McAfee Security 1.2 for Macintosh

  6. Click Add To Cart next to the version that is for a “GSU-Owned Computer”.

  8. Click Check Out.

  10. Fill out your Information, then click I Accept.

  12. Fill out your Order Information, then Click Proceed with Order

  14. Click Download Link.

  18. When prompted, enter your CampusID and Password.
  19. Navigate to the downloaded file in your downloads folder.
  20. Press Control, then click the file and select Open.
  21. If the Unidentified Developer warning window pops up, click Open.
  22. Click Continue in the Introduction window.
  23. Read the Important Information and click Continue.
  24. Click Continue in the End User License Agreement window.
  25. Click Agree in the pop-up window.
  26. Click Install to perform standard installation of the software.
  27. Type your administrator’s name and password to allow the Installer to make changes, then click OK.
  28. Click Continue Installation in the pop-up window.
  29. Click Restart to finish installing the software.
