Manually Setup Mac OS X for Eduroam

Overview

This document describes how to manually connect to the Eduroam wireless network with Mac OS X.

Requirements

  • Mac OS X operating system
  • Your Campus email address and CampusID password
    NOTE: If you have forgotten your CampusID password, you can reset it at campusid.gsu.edu. If you still cannot resolve your issue, contact the IIT Technology Service Desk at help@gsu.edu, or phone at 404-413-HELP (404-413-4357)

Steps to Connect to Eduroam with Mac OS X

  1. Click on the Apple Menu button and select System Preferences.

  2. Click Network in the System Preferences dialog box.
  3. Click Advanced on the bottom right of the Network dialog box.
  4. Select the AirPort tab, then click the + button.

  5. In the pop-up window:
    1. Enter eduroam in the Network Name field
    2. Select WPA2 Enterprise on the Security droplist
    3. Click Add

  6. Click OK to continue.
    NOTE: You should now see “Eduroam” listed under “Preferred Networks”.

  7. Click Apply to save your settings.
  8. In the Authenticating to network “eduroam” dialog box:
    1. Enter your Campus email address in the “Please enter your user name” field.
    2. Enter your CampusID password in the “Please enter your password” field.
    3. Click OK.

  9. To save your settings, In the security dialog box:
    1. Enter your local user name in the “Name” field.
    2. Enter your password in the “Password” field.
    3. Click OK.
    NOTE: These are your personal account credentials you use to log in to your Mac.

     

    NOTE: Setup is now complete. To verify that you are connected, follow steps 1 and 2 of this document again. Your “Network” should now look like the following image when “AirPort” is selected.
