Send or Receive Attachments the Email System Blocks

Posted On May 27, 2014

In an effort to prevent email-based viruses, Georgia State University has implemented a security measure that blocks email containing potentially harmful attachments. It is expected that this security enhancement will mostly impact technical staff who may share program files (such as executable files) through email.

If an incoming email message is blocked, the sender will receive an email rejection notification. Affected university users can take advantage of the Send-a-File service, as an alternative for sending and receiving these files.
