Overview

This document details instructions for downloading and installing Microsoft Office on a Mac through the web access to your email.

Requirements

  • Mac OS X Yosemite
NOTE: You may need your administrator’s name and password to complete the installation. If you do not have administrative access to your computer, please contact your local IT support, or the IIT Technology Service Desk at help@gsu.edu

Downloading and Installing Microsoft Office for Mac

Download and Install Microsoft Office

  1. Log in to your campus email with your CampusID and Password.
  2. Be sure that you are in your inbox, and not another feature, such as OneDrive.
  3. At the top right corner, click the settings-icon icon, and then click Office 365.

  4. Click Software.

  5. Click Install.

  6. If presented with a pop up window, click Keep

  7. Find and open the downloaded file in your downloads folder.
  8. Click Continue.

  10. Click Agree in the pop-up-window.

  11. Click Install.

    NOTE: If prompted, enter your administrator name and password

  12. Click Close.

  13. If Word opens up, click Get Started in the pop-up window.

  14. Click Sign In.

  15. In the Sign In window, enter your campus email address, then click Next.

  16. In the Georgia State log in window, log in with your campus email address and CampusID password.

  17. Select a color scheme, then click Continue.

  18. Click Start Using Word.
