Enable Chat with Students in Skype for Business (Lync)

Overview

This document how to add students as contacts so you can communicate with them using Skype for Business on Windows or Lync on Mac.

Understanding Skype for Business (Lync) Privacy Settings

By default, you are hidden from your student’s Skype for Business (Lync) accounts, which means they cannot see or contact you. If you desire, however, you can add students to your contact list so they may see when you are online and contact you, and then remove or block them when you no longer wish for them to be able to reach you.

For Windows users and Mac users , this involves adding the students to your contact list, then either blocking or removing the student from your contact list. If you’re using Lync online from your email, the process involves adding and removing students from your contact list only.
