Create a New Collaborate Room in iCollege

Overview

This post shows you how to create a new Collaborate room that is integrated with iCollege. When you use this method to create a Collaborate room, access to your room is automatically limited to participants in your existing iCollege course and sign-in is limited to course participants.

Note: Collaborate sessions in iCollege require that participants have a microphone attached to their computer to participate in voice chat. To set up the option to dial in to a meeting by telephone, you would need to request a stand-alone session, instead of creating a meeting in iCollege, or use a third-party phone bridge provider.

Create a New Collaborate Room

  1. Log in to iCollege.gsu.edu with your CampusID and CampusID password.
  2. Select your Course.
  3. Click Communications and select Blackboard Collaborate.

  4. Click Create Session.

  5. Fill out the details of your collaborate session. When finished, click Create Session.

  6. You can join your session by clicking the Sessions tab and selecting the Collaborate session.

  7. Click Join in the window that appears.

  8. The first time your join a collaborate session, you may be prompted to download the Collaborate desktop application. Select your operating system from the dropdown and click Download.

  9. Find and open the downloaded file in your Downloads file and follow the prompts.
