Configure Your iOS Device for Campus Email Service


This document details the steps to configure PantherMail to your iOS Devices.

NOTE: You will need to know your .edu email and password.

iOS 11 Incompatibility Issue

Users of Apple iPhone and iPad mobile devices who update to iOS 11 may experience issues sending email from their campus email account when using the Apple Mail application that comes installed on these devices. This issue is due to an incompatibility between the new iOS release and some servers used by the Microsoft Office 365 email system. Microsoft and Apple have published information stating that they are working to resolve the issue.

Recognizing the Issue
If you have updated to iOS 11, you may see an error message that states: “Cannot Send Mail. The message was rejected by the server.”

What You Can Do
If you have not downloaded iOS 11, you can consider delaying updating to iOS 11.

If you have updated to iOS 11, you can Download the free Outlook client for iOS and use that client to access your campus email, or Access campus email using your phone or iPad’s browser.

Setup your email

  1. Open your device and locate the Settings app.
  2. Select Settings

  4. Scroll down and select Mail, Contacts, and Calendars

  6. Under Accounts select Add Account
  7. iPhonesetup3
  8. Select Exchange
  9. iPhonesetup4
  10. On the next page:
    1. Enter edu Email
    2. Enter Email Password
    3. Leave the Description Box “Exchange”
  11. On the next page:
    1. Confirm all the settings are satisfactory
    2. Select Save
  12. Your PantherMail Account is successfully configured to your iOS Device!
