This document gives you the overview of how to create attendance registry in your course and how to track attendance of your students.

Create a New Attendance Register

  1. On the Desire2Learn Home, select your course.

  2. At the bottom left, click Attendance.

  3. Click New Register.

  4. In the Properties Section:
    1. Enter Name and Description for your new Register
    2. Choose Attendance Scheme
    3. Check Visibility boxif you want students to be able to view their class attendance

    4. Select Users to be included in the register
    5. Enter a Session Name
      NOTE: You may include additional Session, For Example: Online Study Session
    6. Enter a session description (For Example: Week 1 or September 1st or Class 1)
    7. Click Save

Tracking Student’s Attendance

  1. At the bottom left, click Attendance.

  2. Click Register Name.

  3. Click the icon-attendance1 icon to edit your session.

  4. For each student, Choose P (Present) or A (Absent), and then click Save.

    NOTE: To set status for all students, Click Set Status for All Users and then Choose P (Present) or A (Absent) for all students.

    A pop-Up Window will appear to Choose P (Present) or A (Absent)
